This episode I speak to Richard of Folded Space. Folded space create a range of storage and game organization aids for board games, a number of which contain minis. I personally bought their Mansions of Madness insert recently and it has been fantastic. It was cheaper & lighter than other inserts I had seen. This makes shipping cheaper and also. Plus it was pretty logical to put together and because of the material used it doesnt add much to the weight of the box. The only unknown would be long term durability but after a good few plays of the game it all looks secure and sturdy and I am confident it will stand the test of time.
Read MoreThis episode I talk to Ben Galbraith of Blacksite Studio. Read MoreThis episode I talk once again to Alex Davy, the creator of, amongst lots of other notable things, the Star Wars Legion tabletop battle game, published by Fantasy Flight. I really enjoy both talking to Alex and Star Wars Legion. The word that I use in this show is fresh. Read MoreThis episode I get my fan boy hat on and talk to a game designer who I have a great deal of excitement towards, Mr David Thompson. David designed two of the games that I have been setting about with reckless abandon over the last 5 or 6 months, Undaunted Normandy and Undaunted North Africa both WW2 skirmish games with deck management aspects. Although they dont contain minis out the box, conversion projects are easy and the game play is brilliant, in my opinion of course, and so it was great to talk to David about……Not undaunted. Undaunted deserves its own stand alone podcast which will come later but in this show I spoke to him about his personal journey and experience along with his current Kickstarter Campaign for his game Sniper Elite. I wont spoil the show by talking about all the details but in a nutshell it is a WW2 hidden movement espionage game where a sniper is sneaking about trying to evade the patrolling guards.
Read MoreThis episode I catch up with Joe McCullough and we talk through the reasoning behind and the tweaks involved in Frostgrave 2nd Edition. Frostgrave was one of my first delves into narrative wargaming once I began to branch out from Warhammer 40k. I found the stories that could be created, the time I spent thinking up narrative, and the memories of the games to be a massive benefit to the hobby for me personally, that gave the hobby so much more depth. I really enjoyed using the framework created by Joe to put my own spin on things and I mention during the show that I feel Frostgrave is a vehicle for me to create great experiences. It came at a time when I was looking for this exact sort of experience, I just didnt know it, the only thing I knew was that I didnt really get a good feeling from competitive wargaming, Frostgrave took me by the hand and led me out of the initial antechamber of the hobby to where I am now, and I cant thank it or Joe enough.

Read MoreThis episode I speak to Chris Birch of Modiphius Entertainment. Modiphius are best known to me for their Fallout and Elder Scrolls skirmish games. They have taken two brilliant video game IP’s and turned them into tabletop skirmish games. Fallout works with resin minis but The Elder Scrolls games has introduced a line of plastic fantasy minis which although I found a little fiddly to put together, now I have constructed and primed will make excellent additions to my fantasy skirmish collection.
